A food containing pieces needs a review of both the liquid phase and the particles. Tube-in-tube passage geometry may suit selected pumpable formulations, but particle size alone cannot establish process suitability. Include the full distribution, concentration, shape and quality expectations.

Configuration priorities
What to specify for this duty.
01
Inspect the complete product passage
Record particle dimensions along three axes, hardness, concentration and fibre length. Check the feed pump, valves, returns and outlet as well as the heating tube. A generous passage in one section does not remove restrictions elsewhere in the package.
02
Separate clearance from thermal validation
Passing through the machine and receiving the required process are different questions. Particle heating and residence-time behaviour need to be included in the product-specific process assessment. The process authority should define the validation basis for the worst-case formulation and operating condition.
03
Set the product-quality target
Share the shape and texture that should remain after processing. Pump choice, shear, pressure and handling stages can influence particle integrity. Representative trials may be needed before committing to a configuration; do not treat a nominal maximum size as a performance guarantee.
A useful first enquiry
Bring the product. We’ll discuss the equipment.
You do not need every value to start. Share what is known and identify what needs review. A clear product brief helps define configuration, included modules and the decisions that affect the quotation.
Particle size distribution and three-axis dimensions
Concentration, hardness and fibre length
Carrier-liquid viscosity and product density
Required texture and thermal-validation basis
Practical answers
Before you specify.
Can it process any product containing pieces?
No. Pumpability, passage, heat transfer, residence time and the established thermal process must all be compatible.
What should I send for an initial review?
Send particle measurements, formulation, carrier viscosity, intended throughput and the required condition after processing. Mark unknown values clearly.
Discuss your equipment
From product requirements to a defined scope.
Send your product, target flow and packaging needs. The equipment quotation should identify what is included, what connects to your existing line and which process values still need confirmation.
Plan holding-tube residence time using maximum flow, usable geometry, fastest product path, product rheology, particles, controls and validation evidence.
