A UHT enquiry needs more than a high temperature setting. The tube-in-tube equipment must deliver the established thermal process at controlled flow and protect the product through cooling and aseptic transfer. Start with the food formulation, the scheduled process and the downstream packaging boundary.

Configuration priorities
What to specify for this duty.
01
A continuous indirect heating path
Product and utility media remain separated by the heat-transfer surface. Heating, holding and cooling are specified as connected stages. The actual temperature, minimum residence time and operating flow come from the product-specific process basis; a catalogue capability is not a universal sterilization recipe.
02
Controls that belong in the enquiry
Discuss measurement locations, flow monitoring, recorded temperatures, alarms and responses to a deviation. Start-up, product changeover and shutdown need defined transitions. Ask how the control system communicates with your aseptic tank or filler so that equipment availability is not mistaken for permission to transfer product.
03
Define the sterile outlet boundary
Identify who supplies the downstream tank, filler, valves and connecting pipework. Cooling utility conditions, transfer pressure and barrier arrangements need to agree. Product treatment and sterile packaging are separate responsibilities that must fit together in the established process.
A useful first enquiry
Bring the product. We’ll discuss the equipment.
You do not need every value to start. Share what is known and identify what needs review. A clear product brief helps define configuration, included modules and the decisions that affect the quotation.
Product formulation and acidity
Established temperature and holding requirement
Nominal flow, minimum flow and outlet temperature
Aseptic tank or filler connection and control signals
Practical answers
Before you specify.
Is UHT the same as pasteurization?
No. The intended product, treatment duty, storage and packaging requirements determine the process. Do not substitute one thermal duty for another.
Does the sterilizer include an aseptic filler?
A filler is not automatically included. The quotation must define its supply and connection boundary.
Discuss your equipment
From product requirements to a defined scope.
Send your product, target flow and packaging needs. The equipment quotation should identify what is included, what connects to your existing line and which process values still need confirmation.
Inspect the continuous tube-in-tube sterilization system: product feed, indirect heating, holding, cooling, controls, cleaning and the aseptic transfer interface.
Plan holding-tube residence time using maximum flow, usable geometry, fastest product path, product rheology, particles, controls and validation evidence.
